“The creation of our business came from a simple, romantic thought.  I tried to fill a large lantern with a rock oil candle that we were making and selling at that time.  The flat stone looked lost in the tall rustic lantern and I always make something something special for my wife for Valentine’s Day.  Pillar wax candles were the obvious choice but melting in the hot summer sun in an expensive lantern wasn’t an option. I went out onto our property with a chainsaw and starting cutting up a fallen limb of an oak tree and created the log oil candle.
